The Arcade Claw Game Just Became 100X More Fun

Aug 10, 2015 By Houston Barber
At a shopping mall in Chongqing, China, a new game has popped up that is receiving national attention. Those brave enough are strapped into a harness and dangled over a pit of various items. Customers can choose to be lowered over a pit of stuffed toys, candy, or in this case potato chips. Some variations of the game also put boxing gloves on the hands of those dangling to make it more difficult.

Recent investigations into the classic arcade claw machines have found that it was mostly a scam. The machines were designed to only grab prizes after enough money had been put in to offset the cost of everything that was inside. Hopefully the next generation can grow up with this new version of the claw machine and never know the troubles of the ones that came before them.
