Iguanas are a genus of lizards that are pretty close to what Godzilla looked like in preschool. Even though they're herbivores, whose diets consist primarily of green vegetables, iguanas can still be pretty intimidating. They grow as large as six feet, which is longer than most of us are tall. Fascinatingly, iguanas have great sight thanks to a third, or "parietal" eye. It can't make out shapes, but it can sense brightness, allowing them to see long distances in the forest.
Here, a man in Manzanillo, Mexico has learned that a few bananas will make you a celebrity in the iguana world. He'd better run and grab some more fruit soon, because it doesn't look like a few bananas can feed this horde of hungry herbivores.
