The yellow crazy ant was accidentally introduced to northern Australia and Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean, and is an invasive and destructive pest across the tropics. Invasive species are everywhere, but according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the yellow crazy ant has been included among 100 examples of the world's worst invasive species.
