Does your heart leap up in your chest at the sight of the cool azure waters of a swimming pool? Whether it's a water slide wonder, regular lap-laned rectangles or one of those nifty kidney-shaped retro pools, nothing screams "vacation" more than a whiff of that chlorine right outside your hotel window. If you just cannot get enough of your pool time, you have to see these photos of the largest swimming pool in the world.
It's in Algarrobo, Chile, at the San Alfonso del Mar Resort and clocks in at a whopping 19.77 acres of glorious cool blueness.
It's the size of 6,000 backyard pools in total and yes, it's solar heated to 80°. The warm water is especially important if you are going into the 115-foot deep end. The pool is so large, you can even kayak and sail in its clear waters.
The pool took 5 years to build and not just because of its gigantic size; the pool's patented design lets it collect and filter ocean water, essentially creating a lagoon from the ocean itself. No chemicals are used and no waste water touches the ocean.
Check out this incredible video for more of this jaw-dropping lagoon.
