The best kinds of projects are the ones that include the whole family. Sure, they might take a little longer to complete, but by the end, everyone has grown closer and made memories they will never forget.
This family’s ambitious project took 18 months, but they knew from the start that it would be worth it in the end. After all, why pay someone for a job you can do yourself?
These pallets were discarded after being used to ship coconut oil to the U.S., but the family recognized that they still had potential.
Step one was to take the pallets apart and remove nails. Big or small, everyone in the family lent a helping hand.
In an amazing display of teamwork, they removed nearly 9,000 nails from the pallets.
The next step was to sand and re-finish the wood. Dad handled that part.
However, it was a long process, so a family friend came over to help.
After all the wood was sanded, the family began to assemble their new hardwood floors.
This took quite a bit of time.
Luckily, everyone had a job to do. This little guy provided entertainment by making some constructions of his own.
After nailing the new floorboards into place and finishing the wood, the final product looks fantastic.
The mix of colors is striking.
This family proved that with a little ingenuity and hard work, there is nothing that can’t be accomplished. The floors were labor-intensive and took time to complete, but imagine the family’s pride once they were done.
