From the time she was first born, she was prepared for a life of archery. After the death of her brother, an international archer and coach, it was important to her family that the legacy would be upheld. During her early training, Cherukuri's parents had custom-made carbon arrows for her to make sure she was able to hold them.
After her life-long training of only two years, Cherukuri swept the nation after becoming the youngest person in India to reach such a difficult archery level.
Two-year-old Dolly Shivani Cherukuri is taking over the news in India after setting a new archery record. On March 24th, just nine days before her third birthday, according to the India Book of Records, Cherukuri became the youngest Indian to score 200 points over both five and seven-metre distances.
