Hundreds of siblings in the foster care system are separated to live with strangers in unfamiliar places, leaving foster care providers, who are paid for the child's tenancy, plenty of opportunity to take advantage. Being shuttled from home to home can cause a world of trauma for young kids. That's why when two local foster kids in Pittsburgh suddenly stopped attending his boxing classes, Officer Jack Mook decided to remove them from foster care and place them in a safer, more fitting home: his own. With over 350,000 kids currently languishing in the foster care system, wouldn't it be great if more willing adults could step up for children in need?
