This Basketball Player Learns A Valuable Lesson About Talking Near A Live Microphone

It's becoming increasingly clear that Nigel Hayes, forward for the Wisconsin Badgers college basketball team, has a fascination with stenographers. Just last week, he and some teammates spent a few minutes before a press conference absolutely riveted by how a stenographer's keyboard worked. Shortly after, Nigel decided to test her skills out by throwing out a few obscure words like "onomatopoeia" and "zephyr," among others.

This week, he learned another lesson about the nitty-gritty of how press conferences work: watch what you say near a live microphone. After confiding to a teammate that he thought a stenographer was beautiful, Nigel was mortified to learn the whole room heard him.
