Learning to ride a bicycle for the first time can often be a scary, sometimes even traumatic, experience filled with trial and error as you learn to coordinate your balance. The SkyCycle at Okayama Prefecture's Brazilian Washuzan Highland Park takes that fear to a whole new level, as you terrifyingly cycle through the sky.
Combining aspects of cycling with a roller coaster, the SkyCycle literally takes you through the skyline of Okayama. While the ride is on a track, it is entirely powered by your cycling, and you are held in only by a seat belt around your waist. While it may seem like the ride would not be all that scary, these pictures might just change your mind.
The view from the SkyCycle is quite impressive.
Passengers control the speed of the ride, as it is depends on how fast you are cycling.
At first it might not seem so scary.
But only a slim seatbelt holds you in to this tiny cart.
Since you control the speed, it is your responsibility to not run into another cart ahead of you.
Going around corners like this can be extremely terrifying.
Some of the trees have grown large enough to brush against the tracks.
At some points, the ride is extremely high up.
I’m not sure I could handle this...
