The moths are named after their diet, which is mainly maple leafs.
The moths only eat when they're young; once they are fully developed, they stop eating entirely.
The rosy maple moth has a life span of 2-9 months, which is pretty average by moth standards.
The bugs are hard to find because they only are active for a few hours in the evening, and are largely solitary creatures.
