It's a rare dog that doesn't enjoy playing in water. In fact, dogs love water so much that there are entire aqua sports just for them to compete in. One of the most popular is dock diving or dock jumping. Dock diving first appeared in the 1997 Purina's Incredible Dog Challenge, and has remained a popular event ever since. Contestants compete to see how far they can jump off of a 35 to 40 foot long dock into a pool of water. There is even a division for lap dogs, so just about any breed can participate in this fun sport. The longest recorded jump was accomplished by Baxter, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois, at the Super Retriever Series Crown Championship in 2011. His official distance was 29 feet 7 inches!
