Originating in South London, England, dubstep is a relatively young musical genre, born in 1999 to the club and house artists of yesteryear. Out of all the new music genres cropping up in this generation, dubstep is perhaps the most splintered and controversial of them all. The jarring tech beats indicative of the genre are devoid of real instruments, and the songs rarely incorporate more than a few lines of lyrics. Many argue it isn't really music at all, the same way conservative parents in the 1960s feared for their children who listened to modern Rock. Adilyn Malcolm, or Audacious Adi, is 11 years old and loves dancing, and if there's one thing that validates a genre as music, it's being able to dance to it.
