This "Harry Potter" Inspired Wedding Is Simply Spellbinding

May 6, 2016 By Hannah Austin

Since the publication of J.K. Rowling's best-seller Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 1997, people everywhere have been obsessed with the wizarding world of Harry Potter.  While there are millions of “Potter-heads” of all ages, there is no fan base quite like millennials. They've grown up alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and experienced many of the trials and triumphs of young adulthood at the same time as their fictional friends. As the years have passed, they've watched the Harry Potter franchise grow into a whopping $15 billion dollar brand, with traveling exhibitions, digital fan platforms, and even theme parks.

The kids that grew up loving Harry Potter aren't kids anymore, however. They're all grown up, but that doesn't mean they've forgotten about their old pal Harry – after all, that's an “always” kind of love. Some have turned their passion for the series into a teaching tool in the classroom, while others have used the lessons Harry taught them to “Potter It Forward” to the next generation. Inspired by the super-fan community, a shared passion for Harry Potter, and their love for each other, Cassie and Lewis Byrom decided to take things to a whole new level …

... with a one-of-a-kind, Harry Potter themed wedding! After getting engaged on Cassie's 30th birthday at Universal Studio's Diagon Alley, it felt like the natural next step.

The event took place at the Town Hall in Manchester, England. The Gothic architecture not only makes it a popular location for weddings, but also for Hollywood movie sets – Sherlock Holmes (2008), The Iron Lady, and Victor Frankenstein were all filmed on site.

As soon as guests received their wedding invitations, they knew they were in for a Potter-filled extravaganza. However, only super-fans like Cassie and Lewis could have come up with such incredible and intricate details.

From the bride's shoes …

… to her jewelry …

… to her nails, they thought of everything! And it doesn't stop there – in fact, we're only just getting started.

While we would never suggest destroying a book in any other circumstance, the bride's bouquet, handmade from the pages of 20 Harry Potter books, is just stunning

And don't forget the groom! He also had Harry Potter accessories, including book pages crafted into a boutonniere and these awesome cufflinks.

Instead of the usual ring pillow, the couple opted to use the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows

The ceremony took place under a Hogwarts banner.

Upon arrival, each of the 130 guests were given their very own wand.

As for the reception? Hang onto your sorting hat, things are about to get crazy!

Each and every table had a unique centerpiece, filled with potions, candles, and other wizardly decor.

Most spellbinding of all was the cake, topped with two tiny books that say “Lewis” and “Cassie” on their spines. Here's to the first chapter of this newlywed's story!

And, in the words of Severus Snape, may it be for “always.”

Everywhere guests looked, there were Harry Potter references – some handmade, others purchased from shops on Etsy.

Pages of Harry Potter books were scattered about, both for effect and light reading. While this one has bothered a lot of bibliophiles out there, I have a feeling J.K. Rowling would approve. It's a beautiful tribute, and, as the best-selling book of all time, I'm pretty sure the world has a few to spare.

Dumbledore offered the couple his blessing from a vintage frame.

The famous scene of Harry and Ron being chased by Acromantulas found a place at the reception …

… as did this popular quote …

… and even the forever-lost diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw!

The dessert table featured all types of magical treats …

… while Hedwig sat watch over the guest book.

All in all, Lewis and Cassie's wedding was 100% pure Harry Potter magic! We're just glad we got to take a peek.

Safe to say, “Mischief managed!”
