This Hilarious High-Speed Llama Chase Captivated The Nation

Mar 1, 2015
It's being hailed as the greatest llama-based adventure since Disney's "The Emperor's New Groove" back in 2000. On February 26, 2015, two llamas went on the run (or on the "lam," if you will) and, as authorities spent the next few hours trying to corral them, stole our hearts.

The Internet quickly exploded with llama talk, with #llamasontheloose and #llamadrama quickly becoming trending terms on Twitter. Even television news networks took a break from regularly scheduled programming to follow the chase.

In 2012, there were nearly 77,000 llamas in the United States. They are imported from South America for various reasons, including as an alternative guard-dog/herder for sheep and cattle.
