Being born a little bit different, 1-year-old William Lawrence (Wil) is the youngest of his brothers and sisters, and suffers from Down syndrome. The ailment is caused by being born with an extra copy of chromosome 21, and often results in decreased mental capacity, impaired senses and other neurological disorders.
William was lucky enough to be born into a wonderful and loving family that celebrates his differences, making him feel like everyone else. William’s father, Alan, is an accomplished photographer, and decided to take these photos to help remind Wil that he can achieve anything he puts his mind to.
To help inspire Wil, his father took these photos of him soaring through the air.
It is important to note that he is usually either at the same height or above everyone around him.
Hopefully, he will grow up strong and maybe even get involved with sports.
Perhaps he will enjoy reading and grow up to write about his experiences.
Or even learn to love the outdoors as much as any woodsman.
Alan has started another project to help inspire others that have Down syndrome and their families.
With the proper support, anyone born with Down syndrome can grow up to a bright future.
Luckily, he has his big brothers and sisters to look out for him.
Maybe one day he will take up an instrument.
His pajamas are so cute!
Having older siblings take you on adventures can make for the best childhood memories.
What’s winter without a snowman?
Alan and his wife already have five kids, and are expecting one more to join them soon.
With a family like this, Wil is sure to thrive in life.
