ACPAD is the world's first wireless MIDI controller for acoustic guitars. It is the result of a three-year collaboration between musician Robin Sukroso and his partners at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Sukroso wanted to create a piece of equipment that would allow him to blend his love of electronic and acoustic music. The ACPAD has a stick-on interface and rechargeable battery, as well as a USB connection for recharging. The USB also works as a MIDI connection, though the device is also capable of wireless MIDI connection. It features two live loopers, sound effects, a drum pad and more. Its thin design means it has extremely low acoustic dampening properties, so there is no effect on sound.
