This Stunning Timelapse Video Takes You Straight To The Center Of Our Solar System

König's footage is mostly 4k full-disk pictures shot in extreme ultraviolet channels in order to make solar activity more easily visible. In the footage, we can see various solar fluxes, eruptions and multiple needle-like spicules. Gazing into the sun is something that is generally not advised. But in this case, we'd make an exception to that rule over and over again, marveling at the almost living rhythms of the sun that drives our solar system.
Michael König is a German filmmaker and editor who created this stunning timelapse compilation of four years worth of observational footage from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). The SDO is a NASA mission launched in 2010 as part of an ongoing program to study the sun and how it interacts with our planet.
