Tired parents of the world, unite! Your anthem is finally here. Surely, every parent can relate to the following scenario: it's Sunday night and you've put the kids to bed around 8 p.m. or so. Everything should be nice and quiet and you're all ready to start your binge watching of Netflix (House of Cards for the win) when you notice the pitter-patter of feet that are supposed to be tucked in. Then, out of nowhere, you hear it - "Mommmm/Daaaad I'm thirsty!"
Since the dawn of time, kids have waged psychological wars on their parents that I like to call "The Battle of Bedtime," a.k.a. a never-ending barrage of excuses as to why they can't go to bed just yet. I did it to my parents and I'm sure when I have kids, they'll do it to me.
Reed Verdesoto, a father of three from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is intimately familiar with the struggle. He recently uploaded this video to YouTube, featuring him singing a parody version of Walk the Moon's hit song "Shut Up and Dance" - which he changed to "Shut Up and Go to Sleep." It's everything a good parody should be: catchy, hilarious and, most importantly, incredibly relatable by parents everywhere.
