The farmers, equestrians and veterinarians who work with horses put a lot of care into their animals. Horses are powerful creatures, which explains why we admire them so much. When it comes to giving birth, horses are a precocial species, which means that their offspring are more mature and mobile shortly after being born. For this reason, any horse birth is a breathtaking sight, but there's something which rarely happens that can make it even more special: twins.
Only 1 in 10,000 horse births result in twins, and only a small fraction of those are ever carried to term. Here, a 16-year-old paint horse gives birth to twins and her owners couldn't be happier. Good luck raising those two, Tiki, they look rambunctious already.
