This non-profit organization, dedicated to restoring vision, empowers local medical professionals through free training, equipment and monetary grants. This method is cost effective, productive and helps communities become more self-sufficient.
The people at 20/20/20 currently provide services in 40 of the world's poorest areas, in the Caribbean, South America, Africa and Asia. The surgery itself costs as little as $300. However, the people in these communities often live on only $1 a day.
It's hard to believe that something that most people take for granted, like eyesight, is practically a privilege in some parts of the world. Luckily, the fantastic people at 20/20/20 are trying to do something about that.
