A Man From U.K. Creates A "Super Drone" Helicopter Using 54 Regular Drones
Some are calling him a genius, others say he's crazy, but to me, this man is clearly a visionary. Like Leonardo Da Vinci and the Wright Brothers before him, he had a dream about taking to the skies. YouTuber gasturbine101 calls it the "Swarm Manned Aerial Vehicle Multirotor Super Drone," or just Super Drone for short. The name isn't really an exaggeration either - the machine uses the combined power from the propellers of 54 miniature drones to generate enough lift to get him in the air. Technically, it's not a drone though, since it does have a human pilot sitting inside.
This impressive feat of engineering is gaining a lot of attention worldwide and already has over 1 million views and counting since it was posted just a few days ago. In case you're wondering, buying an actual helicopter will run you close to $100,000 (probably more). With entry-level drones retailing at around $100, even getting 54 of them is definitely significantly cheaper.
