"Unadoptable" Shelter Cat Was About To Be Euthanized, But He Just Needed A Chance To Prove Himself

BenBen the cat had an unusually sad face. The shelter cat would sit in his cage all day until a couple finally took a chance on him and took him home. All it took was a single hour of TLC for him to make the most dramatic transformation!

BenBen was brought to the shelter with a crushed spine, deep lacerations, and a cauliflower ear.

He'd had a rough go of it on his own, and it appears he'd been attacked by a much larger animal.

That sad look on his face is the result of extra skin. At the shelter, BenBen's sad expression and quiet, reserved demeanor led staff to believe he might be "unadoptable."

Vets said he'd never walk again and would need pain medication for life.

Eventually, BenBen was scheduled to be euthanized.

Luckily, a woman from an ER vet hospital heard about him and decided to take him in.

The woman and her boyfriend made all the arrangements and got him out of the shelter just a day before he was to be put down.

They were informed that he'd stopped eating or moving - as if he'd given up on life.

Within an hour of taking BenBen out of the shelter, however, everything changed.

Now, he was full of love and cuddles, and constantly purring in gratitude.

Today, he's a whole new cat. He's curious and playful, and loves mealtime!
