This homemade Valentine’s Day decoration is perfect for turning some heads. Keep reading to discover how to make this for yourself.
All you need is:
A large-mouth Mason Jar
2 little feather birds
Krylon white primer
A heart sticker
A scrap of fabric
Hot glue gun
Birch slices (optional)
Start by cutting out a heart, or using a heart sticker, and placing it on the Mason jar. It is important that the heart is about 4.5 in. Then, use a pair of scissors to snip the tail of your birds.
Use white spray paint to cover the mason jar in a solid coat.
Use hot glue to attach the birds on to their stick.
Don’t forget to place both of them together to really capture that loving feeling.
You can also use hot glue to place the moss at the bottom of the Mason jar.
If the birds are too wide to fit inside the jar, just use your scissors to cut off more of the tail, or make the stick shorter on either end.
Next, trace a circle on a sheet of fabric. Use a bright color like pink or light green.
Cut out the traced piece of fabric with the pinking shears.
Place the fabric on top of the jar and use a ribbon to keep it in place.
And you’re finished! Now you have this ridiculously cute decoration to surprise your loved one with. It’s definitely much nicer to keep on a dining room table than a stuffy candlestick.
