While these new Volkswagen vans are cool, they don't hold a candle to their predecessors. There have been a lot of iconic vehicles over the years, but the VW Camper Van is at the top of the class.
These vans hold a special place in the hearts of many and instantly conjure images of the 1960s. The VW Transporter Type 2 bus was first produced just after World War II, making its debut in 1949 at the Geneva Motor Show. Over the years, it underwent many design changes, but never lost that classic "box on wheels" design.
The last "bay style" camper van was produced in 1979, but clearly Volkswagen never stopped production in the leisure vehicle market. This new van might not leave you nostalgic, but it's still pretty cool.
