You may think of anxiety as a strictly human condition. After all, the title of W.H. Auden's "Age of Anxiety" resonated with the public so strongly that it's been continuously used in reference to everything from technology to parenting since its first appearance in 1948. Few know that the scope of anxiety reaches to animals as well. Anxiety, particularly separation anxiety, is a fairly common condition for dogs. It's often exacerbated in dogs that have a history of abuse and neglect. Fortunately, it doesn't mean the end for canine anxiety sufferers. Along with animal and human companionship, there are a host of therapies and treatments. Of course, a friend like this cat never hurts either!
