Wheel Of Fortune Contestant Solves A 17-Letter Puzzle With Just 1 Letter

Feb 20, 2015
Wheel of Fortune is the longest-running syndicated game show in the United States, with Pat Sajak and Vanna White at the helm for most of its 6,000 episodes. Contestants compete to solve a word puzzle, guessing letters (much like the children's game, "Hangman") until they miss. For each letter guessed correctly, contestants "earn" money and, if they win the round, the amount earned goes into their pockets.

On the February 17 episode, contestants moved into the final round, often called the speed-up round. Here, Sajak spins the wheel to determine the value of consonants (as vowels are worth nothing). During this final round, a contestant, Rufus, named the letter, "T." With only one letter showing, Rufus quickly solved the 17-letter puzzle and won $1,700.
