Waffles. Few foods have the power to elevate a brunch from "good" to "great" as much as waffles. They're warm, fluffy, sweet, and go well with just about everything. Heck, they even have an entire house dedicated to them in the South. A waffle iron is a must-have for anyone who enjoys cooking delicious breakfasts in the comfort of their own home. But did you know that, in addition to being totally affordable, waffle irons are also incredibly versatile tools? For years, I only used mine to cook waffles, but this video from Howdini shows off all kinds of recipes that can be made using your waffle iron.
Want brownies without having to bake an entire pan's worth? Just scoop some batter on a waffle iron and you'll have a warm, chocolatey dessert in minutes. Or how about an omelette without the stress of flipping and folding one inside a pan? Just press your eggs and toppings inside a waffle iron and enjoy. Plus, they have an original recipe called the "Breakfast Wiscuit Sandwich" that you've gotta see to believe.
Needless to say, I'm looking forward to making breakfast this weekend. Not to brag, but my waffle iron is shaped like Mickey Mouse. Will it still cook brownies, hash browns, and so much more? I guess we'll find out. Looking to get even more adventurous with your food this weekend? Invite some friends over and try making these savory "potato volcanoes" with some "puffles" for dessert!
