Erin McKean has devoted her life to words. She is a professional lexicographer from San Francisco and is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Oxford American Dictionary. Despite her prestigious credentials, she has a rather unconventional relationship with the English language. To the horror of your high school English teacher, Erin encourages everyone to make up their own words and grammar.

We are urged to be creative in every aspect of our lives, but as Erin points out, that creativity stops when it comes to using words.
