Woman Builds Gorgeous Beachside Home Inside A Shipping Container

By this point in time, you're no doubt familiar with the tiny house movement. For a concept centered around the word "tiny," it's kind of funny just how big this movement has gotten. We've run a whole lot of posts about these homes in the past - some folks converted old garages, others went with the transformation of a trailer, which allows them the freedom to live just about anywhere. Others still have simply taken tiny apartments and managed to find ways to get the most functionality out of every inch of available space.

The big advantage to living tiny is that it's much, much cheaper than trying to purchase/build conventionalĀ residential properties. Plus, in cases where the tiny home is built on a trailer or in a van/bus, it also allows for incredibly easy relocation. Don't like your neighbors? Drive your house to a better part of town - or a new town altogether!

That being said, tiny homes aren't for everyone. I like having some space, and, at the very least, I don't think I could make the transition to tiny homes completely cold turkey. Luckily, it looks like someone heard my prayer and came up with a brilliant idea - tiny vacation rental properties! Now, you can not only get a temporary taste of what it's like to live so minimally, while enjoying a beachside vacation. The only question I've got now is, "Where do I sign up?"

Located just a short walk from the gorgeous, sandy beaches of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, are two very unique shipping containers.

Nicknamed "Conchs" for the conch shells that hermit crabs often like to use as a home, the units are surprisingly nice inside.
