You Don't Have To Like Hockey To Appreciate This Incredible Goal

Mar 8, 2015
Every once in a while, you see a highlight reel play that really stands out. It's the kind of play that, regardless of whether or not you're a fan of the sport, makes you step back and appreciate the skill and athleticism on display. At a recent NHL match between the Montreal Canadiens and the Los Angeles Kings, Canadiens defender Tom Gilbert made one of those plays.

Watch as Gilbert deftly overcomes other players in his way while maintaining precision control of the puck, and ultimately comes away with the score. The only thing to make the goal more impressive? The goalie he beat. Jonathan Quick is one of the best in the league, helping the Kings win a Stanley cup in 2012 (for which he was awarded MVP) and 2014.
