Pets are used to seeing us walking around upright on our two legs. It freaks them out when our bodies move into positions that mimic them on four legs. That is probably why they get so interested when we work out. It's almost as if they're saying, "You look like me right now. That means you want to play."
We like to think the dog or cat is simply helping us work out by being our spotter. Their technique is way off, but they look so darn cute it's hard to be mad.
Here are 15 times pets decided it was time for their human masters to stop exercising.
1. Mastering The Rings
"Mastering the gymnastics rings takes a lot of time, patience, and hard work. As you can see, my owner has a lot of work to do."
2. I Got Your Nose
"I can see you're focused on perfecting your head stand, but I just want to let you know one thing. I got your nose!"
3. No Time For Push Ups
Dogs probably think we are imitating them when we get ready to do some push ups. Technically we are, and it is now time to play.
4. Thanks For The Bed
This little guy is saying, "Mom, this bed is nice and all, but it doesn't have any cushion. Whatever, I'll take a nap anyway."
5. Hand Stands Are Off Limits
"Mom, I said 'no!' Humans aren't supposed to go that way. Here, I'll save you! You're welcome. All in a day's work."
6. Push Yourself
This cat has been watching his human do push-ups for months now. It's time to challenge him a little and add some more weight.
7. Sit!... Up!
Every time this dog sits, he gets a treat. So every time his human sits up, she gets a kiss. This relationship goes both ways.
8. Smooch Ups
"Mom, I'm glad you came down to my level because there is something serious I've been meaning to discuss with you... [LICK!]... glad I got that off my chest."
9. Meet Me At Ground Level
This dog usually has to jump up on her lap or wait until she's laying down to kiss her face. This is more "lick" it!
10. Dalmatian Yoga
"The proper position requires you to put your hands like this. Now, move them out a little bit. I'm gonna lick you until you get it right!"
11. New Scratching Post
This cat is so used to having an inanimate scratching post to rub its back up against. This new state-of-the-art post actually moves and feeds him.
12. Push-Up Partner
"Every time you complete a push-up you get rewarded. You've been working so hard I want to make sure I give you something valuable."
13. Who Needs A Towel?
"I'm glad to see you're finally getting back in shape. There's a bead of sweat, I'll get it. There's another one, I'll get it..."
14. Husky Trainers
It's a good idea to have someone to motivate you while you work out. It's an even better idea to have double the motivation.
15. Thanks For The Bed
"Human, this new bed you got me is a little hard but I'll scratch it up later. Now, stop hovering over me. It's weird."
