As people around the world look toward the start of a new year, millions of people will make New Year's resolutions. They are almost always geared toward self-improvement, as most of us are guilty of not taking better care of ourselves year-round.

Unfortunately, many of these resolutions aren't kept for long. Some of the big reasons behind this is that the resolutions are either not clearly defined or are too ambitious and hard to achieve. For instance, losing weight is a very common goal that people often fail to achieve. A better goal would be to exercise for an hour at least 3 times a week and have at least 2 healthy meals a day. A goal like this is much more clearly defined and has enough play in it to allow for some flexibility.

The simplest little changes that you can make in life are the first steps to changing things around. Leading a happier and healthier lifestyle doesn't have to be expensive or that difficult. Just a few alterations to your routine, like the ones below, can do wonders for your health while also making you feel happier about life:
