31 Rolls Of Film From WWII Have Finally Been Developed And The Results Are Stunning
There's something innately fascinating about newly-discovered things from the past. Regardless of their importance in the "big picture," seeing how humans have lived captures our sense of curiosity and imagination. That basic idea, along with the need to preserve history, inspired The Rescued Film Project.
Photographer Levi Bettweiser recovers undeveloped film that dates from between the 1930s and the 1990s. Bettweiser feels that every image captured "was special for someone ... intended to be remembered" and believes "that these images deserve to be seen, so that the photographer's personal experiences can be shared." It's incredibly important to preserve the record of human history, perhaps especially the more personal aspects of it.
