If there’s an overworked and underappreciated job out there, it’s nursing. Day in and day out, nurses are the ones keeping hospitals running, patients healthy and everyone as happy as can be in a place where this isn’t often much to be happy about. This hectic lifestyle, coupled with being surrounded by a very specific selection of devices and products, has led some clever and crafty nurses to seek shortcuts in the very things they’re working with. Anything from a towel to toothpaste can solve a problem in a hurry, if you know what to do with it.
.) A little mint toothpaste below your nose (or on your finger to sniff as needed) can help block foul odors you might be dealing with.
.) Relieve your stress while still being productive by folding towels, a calm, reflective process.
.) Got a cut but no time to deal with it? Super glue on minor wounds works great.
.) Speaking of cuts, if you’ve got a sizeable injury but no sterile gauze in sight, feminine hygience products work great in a pinch!
.) Hydrogen peroxide can loosen many stains (but be careful, it can also bleach some fabrics).
.) Subsitute lemon juice for salt in your diet for a healthier life.
.) Shaving cream can get sticky stuff off your hands. Spray it on, let it work and rinse it off, just like soap.
.) Many hair tangles are caused by dirt or oil buildup. Rubbing alcohol can cut right through your bedhead.
