This Acrobatic Troupe's Performance Leaves Even Simon Cowell "Spelbound"
I'm a sports fan. Being a writer with very little athletic ability of my own to speak of, I'm always really fascinated by the feats that can be accomplished by a well-trained human body. From the raw power of an NFL linebacker to the speed of a sprinter and the accuracy of a basketball player, it's all amazing to me. I especially like gymnastics, because it combines agility and balance with strength and coordination, even if it may not look like it on the surface. If you've ever attempted a handstand, then you probably already know this.
Back in 2010, a group of British gymnasts called "Spelbound" brought talented gymnasts aged 12-25 together for one express purpose - to stun the crowd on "Britain's Got Talent." The group's routine even got notoriously cranky judge Simon Cowell to give them some well-deserved praise. They went on to win that season's grand prize of £100,000 (approximately $152,000) and are now an internationally-acclaimed troupe of performers who were even asked to perform during the London 2012 Olympics.
