We've all heard the saying "The grass is always greener on the other side," but how often do you stop and meditate on what that means? It's a simple message, one that urges us to be grateful, but it's one that we so easily forget when we need to remember it most.
This video, posted by Bright Side on March 3rd came with little description, other than its title, "Be grateful for what you have!" It's a short animation, featuring mostly stick figures and thought bubbles, but it offers the most endearing illustration of this lesson that we've ever seen. We don't want to spoil how it ends, so you'll have to watch it yourself to see why this video has been viewed nearly 100 million times in the past three days.
Whenever we hear someone say "the grass is always greener," we can't help but apply it to our own lives. We tell ourselves to be happy with what we have and to understand that things always look like they're going better for someone else. What we fail to remember, however, is that people are looking at our lives in the same way. Isn't it funny to think that friends and strangers look at your life with envy while you are busy doing the same thing with theirs? As you go forward today, remember to be thankful for everything that you have, from your car to your ability to walk. Every one of us is rich with unique talents, passions, and abilities. You may not always feel special, but remember that someone out there probably wishes they had your life.
