Caricature Artist Uses Rowan Atkinson's Face To Create Hilarious Historical Portraits

The hilarious characters Blackadder and Mr. Bean are well known around the world, in part thanks to the distinctive looks of Rowan Atkinson, who plays their roles. In addition to his comedic characters, Atkinson’s likeness has now been taken to another artistic platform with the help of Rodney Pike. Pike, a caricature artist, decided to replace the faces of some very famous portraits with those of Atkinson’s beloved characters.

While Pike’s art might not pique the interest of those with more classical tastes, his unique comedic take on some famous pieces of art is one that is sure to bring many a good laugh.

“I’ve created over 40 photo-manipulations using Rowan Atkinson for the main subject over the course of 3 or 4 years and he is by far my most popular subject,” Pike has said. “He’s lots of fun!”

“The concept isn’t much different from Atkinson’s. [The pictures are] simply absurd.”

“I make no statements with my work. It’s simply for fun. It’s just a really cool bonus that I get paid for doing this stuff. Love my job!”

“I use Photoshop CC for all of my work. My favorite tools are the standard warp tool and puppet warp.”
