One of the absolute worst chores around the house has to be cleaning the bathroom. Personally, I can't stand having to do it, and the worst part is cleaning the bathtub. Having to stoop over and scrub all the grime and soap scum is not my idea of fun.
Thankfully, cleaning guru Melissa Maker, the mastermind behind YouTube's popular Clean My Space channel, has a brilliant solution that helps get the job done with a lot less elbow grease. Before the big reveal, however, Melissa discusses the various things that make up the grime on your tub - including hair, dead skin cells, soap scum, bodily oils, and more. Yuck!
To make Melissa's super-effective cleaning solution, you will need:
- Baking Soda
- Dish Soap
- Essential Oil (your choice, but something fresh like lemon or orange is recommended)
Simply combine about a quarter cup of baking soda and dish soap into a mixing bowl, then add 8-12 drops of essential oil and stir to combine. This mix won't keep for long, so only make it when you're ready to use it.
Disclaimer: This solution is meant specifically for enamel tubs. Bathtubs come in a variety of surfaces, and this solution may not be safe for other kinds of tubs.
