I recently completed a chore that I had been putting off for a long time – the dreaded closet reorganization. After years of hanging onto clothes that were too small, stained, or simply out of style, I finally found the resolve to let them go. Some ended up in my craft pile, while others were passed onto friends or Goodwill, and even though it was a hard, time-consuming process, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted when I was done. Sure, my closet is looking a little empty now, but that just means there's room for new stuff, right?
I used many of the organization tips that we've shared previously here at Wimp, but there have been two things I haven't been able to figure out: my scarf collection and my husband's ties. Now that everything is clean, it's more evident than ever that a new solution is needed. Every time I try to arrange them on hooks and hangers, they just end up falling to the floor. I've been tempted to roll them up and stick them in a drawer, but since they are items we wear often, it hasn't seemed like the best solution.
Luckily, Jamie Petitto has just the answer. With just an old clothes hanger, some shower curtain hooks, ribbon, and hot glue, she creates a “wardrobe organizer” that's perfect for odd, loose items like scarves, ties, or jewelry. Whether you decide to keep it for yourself or give it away as a Father's Day gift in June, it's an item that is sure to see a lot of use. Best of all? It only takes a few minutes to make and can be customized to fit any room décor or personality. Happy crafting!
