DIY Way To Remove Carpet Stains

Have you done your spring cleaning yet? If not, don't worry. There is still plenty of time to scrub all those hard-to-reach places and do a solid deep cleaning of the stuff you use every day. We love to share creative ways of cleaning items in your house that you might not know how to clean. Need to give your mattress a good cleaning? We've got a solution for you.

One of the trickiest things to clean is a nasty spill on your carpet. Carpets are infamously tough to clean, and get very expensive if you want to call a professional for help. Well, Anduin Havens from the Martha Stewart YouTube channel is here to help. She shows off a ridiculously simple DIY mixture to get rid of those ugly stains once and for all. Anduin carries with her a "stain kit" so she's prepared for any type of mess. For acidic stains, like ketchup, she uses a knife to scrape off the liquid and then an ammonia solution to get rid of the remaining stain. For an oily stain such as lipstick, she uses rubbing alcohol to wipe it away. Anduin also recommends adding hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, and acetone to your stain buster collection.

How do we know this works? Because we get to see it in action thanks to Anduin's wonderful demonstrations. She pours wine, lipstick, and ketchup on her carpet, and the stain is wiped completely away every time. So next time something spills, don't panic, just open up your handy stain kit and everything will be alright.
