After rescuing a three-year-old Golden Retriever from a shelter, Steve Moore did something few people expected - he trained it to sit and wait patiently outside of a store for him! To think, just four weeks ago, no one wanted the pup at all.
Steve is not a professional dog trainer, but his work with Jackson has really paid off. He says the trick is to train in high-traffic locations to get him used to distractions, and then going somewhere just out of sight (but such that he can still keep an eye on him).
"Everybody wants to take him home. I just find that amazing because four weeks ago, nobody wanted him," says Steve. Thankfully, it looks like Jackson definitely ended up in the right place.
