I love when my girlfriend asks me to open a jar. It makes me feel so strong and important. Sure, I may not know how to make a lasagna, but I can open a jar of sauce like no one's business. I have a few go-to strategies that seem to always work, like crouching down and twisting or banging it against the counter. It may look weird, but it gets the job done. Sometimes though, there is a jar that I just can't open. Even if I give it my best shot, the lid won't even budge.
If opening lids is a struggle for you, then this video is here to rescue you. It gives you a very unique trick to lift up that pesky lid and save you from wearing out your muscles in the process. The secret is an everyday item that all of us have somewhere in the house - duct tape. Start by tearing off strips of duct tape around a foot long. Then, wrap the tape around the edge of the lid and cover about half of the top. You should be left with a few inches of loose tape. Once you pull on the tape, the lid should come right off.
It seems like such a simple solution, but it can make a big difference in your life. Now that I know this trick, I will finally be unstoppable in the kitchen. I'll never be afraid of another jar again.
