Father Crafts Enchanting Indoor Tree House For Daughter

Few things are more magical than a child's imagination. When we're young, the entire world seems to be filled with a sense of wonder, and our dreams and aspirations reflect it. We pretend to be princesses, cowboys and astronauts all before dinner time. If there's anyone we can thank for allowing our minds to run wild, it's our parents. They spark our imaginations by taking us to museums, enrolling us in extracurriculars and, perhaps most importantly, giving us books.

Books are a wonderful way to expand a child's imagination and introduce them to stories that speak eternal truths that can be applied to the rest of their lives. Kyla Boyse, of the University of Michigan Health System, says that "reading can be a fun and imaginative activity for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them."

Recently, a little girl asked her father for a "fairy tree in her room that she could sit inside and read books." This dad could have easily run out and purchased some sort of "fairy tale play set," or hired someone to come and build something for him, but he decided to do something extra special for his daughter instead. What followed were hundreds of hours of blood, sweat and fairy dust, all to make his little girl's dream come true. Check out the images below to see how this crafty dad turned a bedroom into a fairy tree house.

This was his daughter's room before he transformed it. It's not a bad setup, but it could definitely use a little more ... magic.

He began by building a miniature model of her room to make sure he had everything just right. Whenever someone builds a model, you know they mean business.

It helps that her dad knows how to weld. This would serve as the supportive frame for the whole tree house. Just like any protective father would do, he made sure that it could support the weight of three adults. Even though fairies are light, he didn't want to take any chances.

Next, he covered the entire frame in wire mesh. His daughter clearly couldn't wait to see the finished product.

Dad used a mixture of cement and paint to add on the tree's "bark." The lighting, as well as the fake plants and animals, make you feel like you're in the middle of the forest. Judging by the smile on her face, she was happy with the results.

The level of detail is astounding. He even made a tiny door for the fairies who would live in the tree.

Everything about the tree house, including these sparkling butterflies, make it feel full of life.

He even painted the rest of her room to make it appear more "magical."

Her imagination will certainly be able to run wild in a place like this.
