One of the best parts of the holiday season is driving around and checking out Christmas decorations. From stunning light shows to creative interior décor, there's no shortage of fun ways to decorate the inside and outside of your house this December.
After a few years, though, it starts to feel like we've seen every ornate tree and inflatable Santa Claus there is. This is why we're so excited about this DIY decoration from Tanya Memme. We've never seen these giant ornaments in our neighborhoods before, which means that you'll be the first to debut them on your street this season. Check out the easy step-by-step instructions below to learn how you can make these awesome decorations yourself.
To start, you'll need a large, bright-colored bouncy ball. These can be found at most toy stores for around $1.
Next, take a small deli container and make two holes on opposite sides of it.
Twist wire (a coat hanger will do just fine) into a circle. Then, insert each end through one of the holes in your container.
Before attaching it to your ball, spraypaint the container silver or gold to make it look like the top of an ornament.
You'll want to use water-proof silicon glue to anchor it to the ball. Don't worry, it doesn't need to be perfect.
Wipe away any excess glue with your finger. Then, let it sit for 24 hours before hanging it outside your house.
When you're finished, you'll have a stellar display just like this one. Your neighbors will think you let a giant decorate your house this Christmas.
