They say that when you look back, all you have are the memories. Well, one of my fondest memories is walking into school with brand new shoes, and when I finally caught on to the Chuck Taylor craze? I was king of the world and stepping tall with those blazing white soles and proud star logo.
I probably still have that pair hiding out somewhere, but I have a few new pair of Converses too. I imagine you've probably had a pair or two over the years too. From low tops (my fav), all the way to the boots (never got there), Converse kept the options open. If you've ever taken a closer look at your pair, you've might have noticed the two little holes on the inside of each shoe. If you're like me, you probably figured they were to help air those puppies out when you wore them without socks (the only way to wear the low tops). Turns out, there's a little more to them than that.
This trick works no matter how many pairs you have!
Converse has had the same look since the 1920s.
But here's a trick you probably never knew.
1. Unlace the top two holes on both sides.
2. Run the outer lace down through the first hole on the side of the shoe (not straight across as you normally would).
3. Run that lace back through the second hole in the side.
4. Now run that lace up to the regular holes for lacing and put through as normal.
Now you have a custom look, and lacing your Chucks like this helps your shoe fit more snugly.
This will work on all true Chucks.

Even the Christmas-y ones.
Or the ones that are bigger on the inside.
And, of course, it'll keep your Starry Night nice and tight.
