If you were to stroll through the hallways of San Benito High School in Hollister, California you might come across some students with very interesting outfits.
The school's dress code bans girls from wearing off-the-shoulder tops that are quite popular with high school girls. The boys weren't having any of that sexist nonsense, however, so they've started to wear the style in protest.
When school recently started up again, multiple female students were reprimanded for wearing these kinds of tops. The rule has been in the books for several years, but it was apparently never enforced until recently. A female student was quoted as saying that the "administration says that it is for our own safety, but I don’t understand what they are keeping us safe from."
Students returned to school on August 10th, and the pictures were taken during the first two days. San Benito Principal Adrian Ramirez says "It’s been a really good process for me as principal to sit down and hear where issues arose."
What do you think of the dress code, and the subsequent protest by the boys? We'd love to hear from you, and remember to SHARE this with your family and friends.
