We have a lot to thank designers for. Over the last century, they have made all of our lives better and safer. From the sleek design of the iPhone to the annoying but life-preserving safety caps on medicine bottles, we've been very lucky to have the skills of designers on our side.
The designers of the products we're about to show you, though, probably should have taken a day off rather than hand these designs in. We're fortunate that these designers exist, too, because they'll make you laugh out loud (but not intentionally). Enjoy them.
1. Sometimes The Sharpest Pencil Isn't That Sharp
When you design a pencil with an anti-drug message, it's probably best if it doesn't become a pro-drug message when you sharpen the pencil.
2. The Words Won't Come Out Right
There is a reason that English requires a specific word order in sentences. This t-shirt is a clear demonstration of that reason. Oh dear.
3. The Staircase Of Horrors
Oh my, it's hard to look at that without feeling a little vertigo. We can't imagine being asked to walk down those stairs. No thanks.
4. When Your Name Makes You Racist
This is probably an excellent book but sadly, printing the author's name before the title was not the smartest thing this publisher has ever done.
5. The Playground Of No Please Mommy, No!
For the marginally deranged parent's front garden, the park slide that turns every child into elephant poop. This is really not a great idea.
6. Color Choices Matter To Minions
Any other color and this might have been cute, but red colored 3-in-1? It leads to Minions crying tears of blood into your bathtub.
7. We're On An Escalator To Nowhere
The logical place to build an escalator is facing a brick wall that you can't get past. It's a clever tactic used by giants to restock their larders.
8. The Trucker's Favorite Cycle Lane
It appears the road designer is not au fait with how bicycles work and thus believes they have a "levitate" gear. Someone was having a really bad day here.
9. The Face Of Fear
This is, in fact, the true face of many politicians, but they don't want you to know about that. Welcome to the taxi window that unleashes their inner lizardperson.
10. Because Having A Disability Is Not Challenging Enough
We'd love to know, precisely, what it is this car park designer believes that disabled people drive to work in every day. Because we've never seen a vehicle that works with this space.
11. The Racists Of Oxford University Press
It's fair to say that this was one of those times when it might have helped to print all of the author's name on the book sleeve.
12. The Elevator That Messes With Your Head
Which floor did you want? You probably don't want it that badly, do you? It's probably time to choose somewhere else to be. Anywhere else.
13. Counting To 4 Proves To Be Challenging
This feels like it may have been made in a place where English isn't their first language, or the designer had a horrible lisp. You can't pronounce "1th floor" without one. Try it!
14. The "Don't Eat The Food!" Kitchen Sprays
We don't see any happy endings whatsoever if you have these two cans in your kitchen. Is this Darwinism at work? Please don't try this at home.
15. Mickey Says Don't Make Any Mistakes
These pencils are ever so cute but just how are you supposed to use that eraser, exactly? Looks like they had Goofy at the drawing board here.
It just goes to show even the best designers have their off days. We hope that their mistakes gave you a smile, though.

16. The Design School You Don't Want To Graduate From
When a design school sends out these postcards to recruit new students, it's somewhere that you shouldn't send your children to. Even if it's free.
17. The Cannibal's Dinner Party
We like the idea of being able to indicate what we would enjoy eating at a meal, but we're pretty certain that "kids" is not a legal option.
18. Language Is An Important Part Of Design
This label wouldn't win too many prizes for imaginative design, but it's not terrible apart from the placement of that exclamation point. "Boy Syrup" does not sound very appetizing.
19. When Diners Become Doctors
There is quite a big difference between "Heal thy burgers" and "Healthy burgers." Apparently, this menu designer wasn't aware of that not so subtle distinction
20. Words And Quantity Don't Always Mix
"Could you get some more words in there? And could you mess with the fonts, the colors and the spacing too?"
"Sure can," said this terrible infographic creator.
21. The Overly Masculine Approach
If you'd like to make a hand obviously male, there are probably better ways of doing it than giving it a bracelet consisting of a collar and tie.
22. Skipped College The Day They Explained Acronyms
There's only simple rule of designing acronyms, and you don't need a degree to get it right, either. But this acronym designer still missed the mark by about 100 miles.
23. Never Seen A Smartphone In Use
This is the best place you can put a charging point on a device which is only useful when you can see the screen, right?
24. Eye Scanning Matters
This fails because the human eye groups words that are closest in space with each other and does not group those that are the same color. Doh!
25. The How Not To Explore The World Cushions
Look, there are only 4 points of the compass. If you can remember North goes at the top then Never Eat Soggy Waffles should help you fill in the rest. What do you mean you had them printed already?
