Ah, ironing. While not for the lazy laundry-doer, ironing clothes is a great way to take them to the next level. Unless I have a job interview, a wedding, or a funeral, you won't see an ironing board anywhere near my laundry room. Don't get me wrong, a freshly ironed pair of pants feels great, but I don't have fifteen minutes to spare every time I get dressed.
Well, thanks to the wise words of Brenda, there's a new way to iron clothes that can save you a ton of time. In her hometown, Brenda is known as the "Ironing Board Queen," and there's no one I trust more than royalty to give me advice on subjects like this. Last summer, she went on Doctor Oz's popular television program to teach the world how aluminum foil is the key to speedy ironing.
Simply remove the cover from your ironing board and line it with aluminum foil. Brenda reminds viewers that leaving it "shiny side up" is key, as it is better at reflecting heat. Once you've laid down your aluminum foil, replace the cover and go about your ironing as usual. Brenda shows off her hack by ironing a blouse that normally takes her 15 minutes. Once she adds the foil, however, she has that same top ironed and ready to wear in three minutes flat! That's 20% the time it used to take to iron her blouse, and all it took was this common kitchen necessity. So, the next time you go to iron something, remember what the Queen taught you.
