How To Turn A Broken Stool Into A DIY Storage Solution

I don't care who you are or where you're from, I can pretty much bet on the fact that you could use more storage. My dream is to one day live in a home where I have a perfect little nook for everything, but until that day comes, I've gotta stay on top of it myself and improvise solutions whenever possible.

One of the things that I find is the most awkward thing in the world to try to store is wrapping paper. It's the kind of thing that's only really ever pulled out a couple of times a year, but it still needs to be kept safely stored because you don't want to give someone a present with damaged wrapping paper. It's just not classy.

Instead of shoving it away in a box where you can't really see it and have to keep pulling it out all the time, Sarah from the blog at Sadie Seasongoods came up with this clever DIY solution that not only provides a great storage solution, it also looks pretty cool, and reuses a broken stool!

Here's the broken stool she started out with. As you can see, it's not much good for sitting anymore, but it can still be used for other things.

To start, she gave the stool a nice new paint job.

Next, she flipped it upside down and added wheels to the bottom so she could roll it around.

After that, she attached different pillow cases to the sides for storage. Longer cases are perfect for gift bags and tissue paper.

Shorter cases are used to store loose pens, tape, and gift tags.

Finally, rolls of wrapping paper are put in the middle. The stool's shape helps to naturally retain all the supplies. She added some scissors and tape to one side, and her rolling wrapping station was complete!
