How To Make A DIY Shoe Rack Using PVC Pipes
Whether you live in a small apartment or a large home, chances are you could do with having a little extra storage space, am I right? Things start piling up and making a mess. The easiest way to make a mess is not having a designated space for your things. Case in point, I used to put all my excess stuff (usually my coats, scarves, etc.) on the sofa and it looked terrible. After I invested in a cheap set of over-the-door coat racks, I could hang my coats and actually use the couch for sitting again. What a concept!
With winter finally grinding into full swing across much of the country, shoes are going to start cluttering up your doorway (and probably already have). Those wet snow shoes and boots can't come in so they get kicked off by the door, creating an eyesore and tripping hazard every time you're on your way in or out of the house. The solution? A shoe rack.
While shoe racks aren't especially expensive, if you're a DIY enthusiast and you'd like to save a few bucks while you get your hands a little dirty, this shoe rack made from PVC pipes is a perfect project. Just get some wide PVC pipes cut to a fairly shallow length, stack them up next to each other and then clamp them. Mark the points of contact and use a strong adhesive to glue and re-clamp the pipes at those points. After the glue dries, the structure should be pretty sturdy. Coat with primer and then paint in your desired color/design. Now you're ready for those snowy shoes!
